Morphic Thresholds

Dimensions of Designs

Morphic Thresholds

The journey of a designer in creating memorable experiences involves an understanding of the ways that one perceives changes around them. Architectural narratives play a crucial role in transporting individuals into a conceptualized realm, simulating experiences while still advocating for incidental perceptions.

Architectural ideas encompass a culmination of predefined notions, actively resolved decisions and speculative reasonings. Morphic thresholds represent the core foundations of the design thought process. Intuition, Interpretation and Impact act as the thresholds that help define the different stages of a design evolution. They are dynamic and vary in their times of relevance depending on each one’s unique design process, highlighting how they act as morphic thresholds that shape and influence design development over time. They mark the onset of concepts and architectural ideas while simultaneously working as tools for curation. These key events or decisions define the core essence of design and bring about a transformation of narratives into tactile experiences.

The exhibition tracks the narrative of projects, giving focus to the inferences that shape up the preliminary approach (intuition), countless learnings that evolve with time and acquired experiences (interpretation) and to envision the lasting impressions of the built environments in an alive and dynamic format (impact).

The exhibition connects these 3 invisible thresholds as parameters transporting the user into the looping journey of a project. With many such curated displays, the domain of ‘Confluence’ carves out a self-developing narrative of its own over the course of time. The three thresholds are celebrated and exhibited within all possible stages of design development.

Confluence 2024-25 involves the subjects in attendance to perceive the entire space as a gallery of thoughts, expressions and opinions. Conclusions, Observations and feedback are all encouraged by the built forms that develop this gallery into an intricate culmination of the architect's explorative journey; deepening the understanding of Morphic Thresholds that drive the creative process.
